  1. I find your reviews and choices of movies for 90’s and 90’s. I would appreciate if you can provide the dates for the following when the were made
Oro Plata mata and Sa Pusod ng Dagat.
I just got these two films as a gift from the Philippines. I am based here in New York and like to watch movies too. Thanks so much and good luck in your reviews. Jappy Holidays.

  2. Sorry for the typos I am a little bit sleepy after watching Katas ng Saudie which i borrowed
here in a local Pinoy store. Also, did you review Ploning? Thanks again, I also watched Paupahan (Crossroads) a good indie movie. Thanks again.

  3. Hi Mon,

    Thanks for visiting my blog.

Sa Pusod ng Dagat came out in 1998 and participated (and won) in the Manila Film Festival in June of that year. However, the film was a flop at the box office. It has many similarities to another classic, Ishmael Bernal’s “Nunal sa Tubig” and more so, Marilou Diaz Abaya said that “Pusod” was actually a tribute to Bernal’s 1976 film. I also like that film a lot.

Oro, Plata, Mata on the other hand, came out in 1982 and was an instant favorite by film critics. It was priduced by the Marcos’ Experimental Cinema of the Philippines.

Katas ng Saudi is a good film, I must say. I haven’t seen Paupahan though. Regards
